Comments

We started along St Cuthbert’s Way. The total ascent was about 1100ft over undulating ground, but the pace was very fair and Lance allowed lots of lolling around. The countryside looked very beautiful for the time of year. There was thick gorse. We absorbed a lot of endorphins. Julie met a former colleague whilst we were having lunch.

We met a variety of dogs: labradoodle, Irish wolfhounds, collie, dachshund. Lots of cute calves and cows, and lambs.

We spotted the Ukrainian flag on a hill top.

“Best walk for a while” - George
“A grand walk” - Richard

Wildlife: We saw a cuckoo and heard two others; herons, martins, lots of swallows, starlings. Hare, deer, rabbits.

Meal

The Plough in Town Yetholm. The curry was very hot - Lance just managed to cope. No crumble.
